clean surfaces, fresh first impressions.
It is one of the quickest ways to lift the look of your property. A pressure clean removes the grime, mould and stains that make your surfaces look older than they are.
It is also the first step of every exterior paint job we do, so surfaces are clean and ready before any coating goes on.

the right pressure for every surface.
Your surfaces are not all the same, and they should not be cleaned the same way. We adjust the pressure and technique for concrete, render, timber or roof tiles, so everything comes up clean and stays undamaged.

power washing vs pressure washing: what is the difference?
The terms power washing and pressure washing are often used interchangeably, but there is a technical difference between the two.
Pressure washing uses a controlled stream of unheated water to remove dirt, grime, mould and organic build-up from exterior surfaces. Power washing uses heated water, which can provide additional cleaning power for grease, oil and heavily soiled commercial areas.
The strongest pressure is not always the best option.
Different surfaces require different equipment, pressure levels and cleaning methods. Concrete may tolerate a more powerful clean, while timber, painted surfaces, roof tiles, pavers and older masonry require greater care.
DIY vs professional pressure cleaning
Hiring a pressure cleaner may appear straightforward, but incorrect pressure, distance or technique can permanently damage a surface. Common DIY problems include etched concrete, stripped paint, damaged timber fibres, loosened mortar, displaced paving sand and water being forced beneath roof tiles or into the building.
Professional pressure cleaning is not simply about using a more powerful machine. It involves assessing the surface, selecting the appropriate equipment and pressure, managing water flow and cleaning evenly without causing unnecessary damage.
At Next Coat, we consider the condition and material of each surface before work begins. Driveway, paving, deck, wall or roof, we remove the built-up grime and protect the surface beneath it.
when should you call a professional?
Professional cleaning is recommended when:
- The surface is painted, sealed, aged or delicate
- Mould, moss or lichen is widespread
- The area is large, elevated or difficult to access
- Roof access or fall protection is required
- An even finish is important
- The surface is being prepared for painting or coating
Correct preparation creates the foundation for a better result. When pressure cleaning forms part of a painting or coating project, we assess the surface as part of the complete preparation process rather than treating cleaning as an isolated step.
