from terraces to vineyards.
Newcastle is a city of character. Terraces and workers cottages line the inner suburbs, brick family homes fill Charlestown and Kotara, and lakeside houses look out over Lake Macquarie. Further out, Maitland has historic streets and the Hunter Valley has rural homes and guest accommodation.
Older homes carry layers of paint, detailed timber and a few old repairs. Homes built before the 1970s can contain lead-based paint, so we assess older surfaces before any sanding begins.

coast, lake, river and heat.
Ocean wind and salt
Beachside homes at Merewether and around Port Stephens face salt and wind all year. We wash the salt away and use coatings made for exposed positions.
Lake and river damp
Homes around Lake Macquarie and the Hunter River stay damp for longer. Some low-lying properties have been through floods, so we check for damp, swollen timber and old repairs before we paint.
Hunter Valley heat
Inland summers are hot and the sun is fierce. Render, timber and metal fade and crack sooner. We recommend finishes made for high UV and explain the choice in your quote.
Heritage that needs a gentle hand
Terraces and cottages need sound edges, repaired timber and the right primer. We work around the original details, so the character stays and the tired paint goes.

questions from Newcastle and Hunter homeowners.
Do you paint in Newcastle and the Hunter?
Yes. Our team comes up from Sydney to paint homes and business sites in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens. We agree the dates and the full scope with you before work starts.
Can you paint my Newcastle terrace or heritage home?
Yes. We assess the existing coatings, repair what needs repairing and work carefully around the original details. See how we approach heritage and period homes.
Is there lead paint in my older home?
It is possible in homes built before the 1970s. We assess older surfaces before any sanding or scraping, and if a surface needs testing or special handling, we tell you at the quote stage.
Can you paint my Hunter Valley property?
Yes. We paint homes, sheds, cottages and guest accommodation. Tell us how many buildings there are and any dates you need to work around, such as bookings or events.
Can you work around school terms, residents and opening hours?
Yes. We plan school work for holidays and weekends, aged-care work around residents and routines, and business work around opening hours. See our school, aged-care and commercial pages.
What makes the price go up or down?
Size, condition, preparation, access and the paint system. An older home with more repairs costs more than a straightforward repaint. Our painting cost guide shows Sydney market ranges, and we write a clear quote once we have seen your project.
