quotes and pricing.
Do you charge for quotes?
No. Quotes are free and there is no obligation to go ahead. We contact you within 24 hours to book a time, then we come out, measure and give you a clear written price.
How much does it cost to paint a room in Sydney?
Most single bedrooms fit within our Painter for a Day package at $995, which includes a full day on site. Larger rooms, high ceilings or heavy repairs are quoted separately. See typical prices in our painting cost guide.
Why do painting quotes vary so much?
Preparation, paint quality, the number of coats and who does the work all change the price. Our guide to comparing painting quotes shows how to read them.
Do you offer fixed prices for small jobs?
Yes. Patch & Prep is $549 + GST for a morning or afternoon, and Painter for a Day is $995 for a full day on site. See our packages.
Why do you need to see the property first?
Preparation is the biggest variable in a paint job, and you cannot price it from a photo. A visit lets us give you a price that holds.
before we start.
How do I get my home ready for painters?
Clear small items and fragile things. We move and cover large furniture and protect your floors. Our preparation checklist has the full list.
Can you help me choose colours?
Yes. We talk you through colours that suit the light in each room and how you use the space, so you can commit with confidence. Read our guide to choosing colours.
What if my walls contain lead paint?
Homes built before 1970 may have lead-based paint. If we suspect it, we arrange testing before any sanding begins and explain the safest option. See our lead paint guide.
Can I stay home while you paint?
Yes. Most customers do. We protect floors and furniture, keep the work area contained and clean up each day.
Do you paint ceilings and trims as well as walls?
Yes. Walls, ceilings, doors, skirting boards, window frames and trims, all as part of the same job if you wish.
paint and finishes.
Which paint brands do you use?
We use premium Dulux and Taubmans paints, chosen to suit each surface, from washable interior finishes to exterior systems made for Sydney sun and salt air.
What finish should I choose?
Matt or low sheen for most walls, satin for kitchens and bathrooms, flat matt for ceilings and semi-gloss for trims. See paint finishes explained.
How soon can I use the room after painting?
Most rooms can be used again the same day. Interior paint is usually dry to touch within an hour, with a second coat applied a few hours later. Wait until the next day before pushing furniture against the walls, and allow about a week for the paint to fully cure.
How long does exterior paint last in Sydney?
A well prepared exterior commonly lasts 7 to 10 years, and sooner on timber and sun-baked walls. Read more in how long exterior paint lasts.
When is the best time to paint?
Inside, any time of year. Outside, spring and autumn are usually easiest. See the season guide.

What does the 5 year warranty cover?
If paint we applied fails because of our workmanship, such as peeling, flaking, blistering or cracking, we fix it at no cost to you for 5 years. The warranty page lists exactly what is and is not covered.
What happens if I am not happy with something?
We fix it before we hand over. We walk through the finished job with you and correct anything you point out. The job is not finished until you are happy and have signed off.

Every job is overseen personally by Spyros, so you have one person who knows your project from the first visit to the final walkthrough.
